variety of leadership roles in the government, service and business sectors
today. Its objectives are simple. We want to identify and develop emerging and potential leaders
from various geographic, social, ethnic, occupational and economic segments of
the community; develop
potential in and encourage accept ance of civic responsibility by emerging
leaders; broaden the volunteer leadership base of the community, and to encourage
personal growth and development.
This prestigious leadership development
program expands the community’s civic leadership, through an eleven-month long
seminar/interactive curriculum. The class year starts in August with an orientation
and welcome reception followed by a retreat that introduces class members to
each other and the general principles of leadership. The
next ten months involve exciting and informative monthly d
aylong seminars where
participants explore the various aspects of the Santa Maria Valley
Community. Participants engage in
face-to-face discussions with experts and key decision makers in vital areas of
concern within the Santa Maria Valley.
Participants will hav
e unprecedented opportunities to become aware of
current social, cultural, and economic issues, change and their impact on the
Santa Maria Valley. Students engage and
interact with community leaders and the
