LEADERSHIP SANTA MARIA VALLEY

Are you looking for a way to get more involved in the community?  Do you want to expand your circle of influence within the Santa Maria Valley?   Would you like to be able to network/connect with the decision makers and key leaders in our area?   Then consider Leadership Santa Maria Valley!  THE program that can do that and more.

LSMV is a leadership program designed to foster and create future community leaders and trustees.   Founded in 1995 on the premise that citizens with an in-depth knowledge of their community will become better leaders with better ideas and will make better decisions.  LSMV has over 280 graduates serving in a variety of leadership roles in the government, service and business sectors today.   Its objectives are simple.  We want to identify and develop emerging and potential leaders from various geographic, social, ethnic, occupational and economic segments of the community; develop potential in and encourage acceptance of civic responsibility by emerging leaders; broaden the volunteer leadership base of the community, and to encourage personal growth and development.

This prestigious leadership development program expands the community’s civic leadership, through an eleven-month long seminar/interactive curriculum. The class year starts in August with an orientation and welcome reception followed by a retreat that introduces class members to each other and the general principles of leadership.  The next ten months involve exciting and informative monthly d aylong seminars where participants explore the various aspects of the Santa Maria Valley Community.  Participants engage in face-to-face discussions with experts and key decision makers in vital areas of concern within the Santa Maria Valley.   Participants will hav e unprecedented opportunities to become aware of current social, cultural, and economic issues, change and their impact on the Santa Maria Valley.  Students engage and interact with community leaders and the  “movers and shakers” in the areas of Military/Aerospace, Cultural Arts and Diversity , Public Safety, Youth and Education, Health and Human Services, Business and Economic Development,  Government, Media and Technology, Agriculture, and Leadership.

Now you have a valuable opportunity to connect with this vital portal to the Santa Maria Community.
